I am going to Paphos for the first time in August staying in Porto Paphos hotel could someone tell me if it is were the construction is, I know it will probably be finished but just slightly concerned especially since the holiday company never told us about it!!
Thanks

I think you are right to be concerned. There is currently no access to the road or beach behind the Porto Paphos Hotel (a former favourite where years ago we spent many happy holidays).Shell wrote:I am going to Paphos for the first time in August staying in Porto Paphos hotel could someone tell me if it is were the construction is, I know it will probably be finished but just slightly concerned especially since the holiday company never told us about it!!

The harbour area is unaffected. It is the promenade between the harbour car park and the Porto Paphos hotel that is affected. Even if the work is not finished, it's only about 400 metres out of a whole island; and really only the sea front apartments and the Porto Paphos are directly affected. There is plenty to see and loads of places to walk - and if the contractors get their skates on, it may still all be finished on schedule - though experience tells me that it more likely may not be.Neilyboy wrote:After booking our apartment and flights we found out that the harbour area was under reconstruction. I have to say that we're fairly relaxed about that kind of thing so it wouldn't necessarily put us off. Neil
The Pioneer is only about 3/4 mile up the road from the Porto Paphos and well away from the development work. Both hotels are a fair way from Paphos town, but there's a bus service every 20 minutes that stops almost at the front door and it is a pleasant walk along the beach to the harbour or the airport, if you feel like walking in the heat of AugustShell wrote:Have booked another hotel (pioneer) quite a bit out from paphos town but looks lovely
