I haven't visited any restaurants within the vicinity of the New Port - there are certainly plenty to choose from around the old port / marina and the old town, which isn't too far away.
The alternative would be to head for Curium beach where you have a choice of 3 beach tavernas.
I'm guessing you're either going on a cruise or meeting someone off it, so it all depends on how much time you wish to spend on travelling.
If you want somewhere a bit upmarket and not too far from the old and new port, I would suggest Neon Phaliron. They do Cypriot and International cuisine - it's our favourite place for something special.... they have a website and there's usually a voucher which you can print off to give a free drink or dessert if ordering a meal.
Alternatively, have you tried taking a look at Cyprus Eating.com website (Geoff Dutch runs it) - it may give some alternative inspiration.

Hi, if you cross the road from the promenade and walk to the old town, about 5 minutes, you will find dozens of good restaurants there. I have sampled several and they are all good.
Seriously, Limassol has many fine places to eat. It caters for tourists and business folk alike and has to maintain a high standard.
Just in case there is any confusion here... as there are some mixed responses.
The New Port is nowhere near the promenade in Limassol. The New Port is where all the cruise ships and container ships come in.... closer to My Mall than the Promenade.
The Old Port and New Marina are almost side by side to each other though and very close to the Old Town of Limassol - easy to get confused.
