I use Seasonpass.
It is a very simple procedure and the guide is easy to follow.

A wee word of warning. If you have an Apple tv, do not update to ios 5. Although you can jailbreak, it's a tethered one, which means that if power ever goes, you need to boot connected by USB to PC or mac. An untethered one will likely follow, but could be months.

I guess thats differs between versions of the firmware on the ATV you are using. My ATV2 is jailbroken on 4.4.4.with the season pass unthethered jailbreak. So power cuts can come and go it makes no difference.

Jailbreak plusses.

You can install XBMC media browser, along with iPlayer, ITV player, 4OD, 5onDemand, plus loads and loads of Live TV and film and tv show sources. I reckon it's well worth it. The procedure to do so now is complicated for versions under 5. With 5, it's the tethered boot. I.e. you need to boot from a PC after power cut.
