We are looking to have our old worktops replaced, would like granite, or similar. Any recommendations ?

I got some composite ones from Focal Points last year, they don't recommend granite! Alan was the salesman I dealt with.

It was also my choice Keith, I have friends in England who decided against granite there too. I'm not staying in this apartment forever so granite wouldn't have been an investment either and what I have is 100% better than the developer supplied one it came with!

Why not ring them and ask Keith?!

Must admit...we've got "real" granite and I wouldn't have it again.

Thanks all for the replies, and discussion. We have composite worktops in the UK, and are very happy with them. However we were looking into using granite in Cyprus as they seem to be relativley ,much more affordable. Will pop into Paphos in the spring and check out the costs re composite versus granite. And also check with our local builder.
