Low system pressure

Postby BigDutch#2 » 03 Jun 2013 07:49

I noticed these last days a fine layer of dust/grim had settled in the pool, hadn't swept, hoovered or used it for a week, assumed it was just filtering away on its schedule. I went to hoover yesterday only to find the system pressure hovering above zero, when i hoovered it wasn't very strong at all.

Any ideas what may have caused this problem ?

If there is no suck on waste setting as well it's normally because leaves and stuff block the impeller in the pump, generally because the pump basket is damaged. If your lucky remove the pump basket put your fingers inside and you can remove the rubbish from the small 2" entrance to the impeller. If not the pump needs splitting to clean between the fins.be carefully if you try this as it is a water seal.

BUT there are other possible reasons. If its not this repost for more.

thanks Chris! Using a coat hanger (LINK) i did indeed find some small parts of the flower that rains into the pool from a tree overhanding the pool ... 2-3 teaspoons off that later and the pressure is back up where i expect it to be.
