I’ve always been a dog lover but for some reason really scared of German Shephards. I can only think it’s because they look quite fierce.
And then I met Bambi.....
After a life of being ignored, starved and tied to a tree with no exercise Bambi entered my life with a big sigh. As dogs can’t talk, I have no idea what she has been through but that sigh told me she had given up...
I felt no fear as I unchained her and ruffled her neck. She didn’t look in the mood to eat or attack me. A big bowl of water and food raised her head from the floor, though she still didn’t look at me.
Not so slowly Bambi has come to know that she is safe and can trust me. Not so slowly I have come to know that she is the gentlest, sweet natured dog, whom I have nothing to fear from.
It’s been 3 weeks now and with each day Bambi has realised the joy of being unchained and free to roam. Long walks in the forest and along the coast have been quite an eye opener for her. Her favourite thing to do is roll in the grass which my dog has taught her to do.
In fact it’s my Golden Retriever Senna, whom she copies and learns from (not sure that’s such a good thing) as she has never known anything else but being tied up.
If you are wondering why we have named her Bambi after the Walt Disney Deer, it’s because she was a little bit wobbly on her feet. Due to no exercise and food she hasn’t built up any muscle strength in her hind legs. But she is improving every day and has come on leaps and bounds, literally!
Apart from Erlichia, which is being treated and nearly cured of, Bambi has been given a clean bill of health from the vet and is ready for someone like you to give her a forever home.
Bambi will be the most ideal pet and companion, loyal, quiet (never barks) desperate to love and be loved. Ready to learn what normal well kept dogs can do...
Please be that special someone who deserves this special girl.
