Sigh.

And when did Islam become a race, anyway?

Yah boo sucks to the scaredy cat driver as well. I personally would have started singing the song louder and invited the other passengers of my race (you know the indigent inhabitants of the UK) to sing along.
It is a sad day that one of these people can make this happen, especially to a family with such a young child.
I despair.

i'm not happy about this slow erosion of British culture.

The hijab-wearing woman is an insult to all that women have been fighting for over centuries. Why isn't she branded sexist?

Debs - I totally agree with you.

I do hope this is investigated seriously and the driver taken to task.

It makes me sick, I wish I'd have been on that bus because I can guarantee they would not have been pushed off!!

Firstly glad I dont live in the uk.
second, logically if the "Asian lady" who is probably muslim finds western culture offensive then surely she should live in place more in tune with her cultural and religious beliefs.

Totally agree with everyone on this thread, I love my country, but I'm sick and tired of this sort of racial prejudice against WHITE BRITISH people in their own country ! Wake up Britain before it's too late.

If you think about it Mouse, the covered lady is already in a place that she and her fellow Islamists are right at home in. It is called The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. X(

Everyone seems to be in agreement. It means we all feel the threat to our freedoms. The next general election might generate some debate on these new facets of British society. Hopefully there's a solution even if it means sacrificing a little part of Britain where they can practice their way of life so long as we are free to practice Christianity, tolerance and individual respect.

A very noble attitude, just as a matter of interest, what part of Britain would you sacrifice ?

I wouldn't do it willingly, and perhaps I might be prepared for some effort to prevent losing part of Britain to islam. But there are already enclaves within the midlands and so maybe we can start there. They have already picked their favourite areas so we can take it from there.

I'm not sure if it's not too late for repatriation since we have given them British passports and so effectively a contract for our Queen and forces to protect them. Except, we are fighting them now? Maybe that's why we are fighting them abroad, in Iraq? maybe we can't attack our own citizens in Britain?

It's too complicated and messy. :-s

I personally could not countenance any suggestion that any sect, cult or whatever should be given a portion of the United Kingdom to live and practice their beliefs. Give an inch and a demand for a mile comes to mind. What has the Midlands done to deserve such a solution? What is needed is for the powers that be and those who see offence being caused at every turn is to insist that people who come and have come to live in the UK are free to follow their religious beliefs etc. but cannot and must not try to dictate the way in which the indigenous population ( very much the majority still) chooses and has chosen to live for centuries. The Laws of the land are those which Parliament has passed through due process and are applicable to everyone of whatever creed, culture or religion.

I am a Christian (not always a good one) but have several Muslim friends none of whom seek to change me or any others indeed they find it perplexing that our so called authorities feel they will be distressed etc if we continue to celebrate Christmas for instance because as far as they are concerned Jesus was a prophet (not the son of God but a prophet like Mohamed) similarly as the Jews do (Jesus not being the son of God that is). Too many people in positions of authority see harm where none exists and in my view only make matters worse by constantly banging on about such things.

Whilst there are quite a few deluded Islam believers in our midst (at least in the UK's midst) it does not follow all are of the same view. Please do not think I am excusing the horrendous things that are happening and have happened in our midst but please please do not advocate handing over portions of what is still my country to appease malcontents. The UK has no borders keeping people there if they wish to leave.

Before leaving the UK {Blackburn lancs} I was doing some shopping in my local Lidl. As per usual the conveyor belt was crammed with shopping and the lady behind me was gesturing me to move my shopping further up the conveyor belt - I say gesturing as she was covered head to foot in black I couldn't see her face and she wasn't speaking English so gesturing was all she had to try to make herself understood. I explained I would move my shopping once their was room to do so, she kept on garbling to me in Urdu/Arabic and pointing to my shopping and with hand gestures was asking me to move my shopping. Then her husband appeared who spoke English so she told him what she had been trying to tell me - he then asked me could I move my shopping I told him what I'd told his wife I would make room once the belt became less full. it then transpired they didn't want me to move further up the conveyor belt with my shopping what they wanted was for me to move some of my purchases further away from where her items would be on the belt once there was more room. What was I waiting to pay for? Pork chops and belly pork and she didn't want them near her shopping.
Normally I am very tolerant and respectful of others beliefs but this just took the biscuit, this was my straw and camel moment. I informed her & her husband that I was free to shop in MY country and purchase things I wanted with MY money that I had earned and if she wasn't happy to shop in local stores that served food that was offensive to her then she had two choices, shop in the plentiful helal butchers that were in the area or alternatively return to YOUR country where you will be less offended. Needless to say this didn't go down well with her or hubby - tough.
This is one of the reasons why I no longer live in the UK as already been suggested the boat has already sailed {especially in certain parts of the UK} In East Lancs the Asian population {in particular Pakistani communities} are out growing the 'white British' communities leaving them as a minority group. I'm all for community cohesion as I have commented on other posts similar to this but for me the pendulum has swung far to far the other way.
We are here for such a short time.....only regret things you didn't do. Be kind and be happy :)

‘IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It

I admired the words of Julia Gillard, the then Prime Minister of Australia, who in September 2012 welcomed immigrants to her country with the provisos:

“I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.  ‘This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom’   We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish,  Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of  our society . Learn the language!’

‘Most Australians believe in God.  This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because  Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools.  If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.  ‘We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why.  All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and  peaceful enjoyment with us.’

‘This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this.  But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, ‘THE  RIGHT TO LEAVE‘.’

‘If you aren’t happy here then LEAVE.   We didn’t force you to come here.   You asked to be here.   So accept the country  YOU accepted.

I'm pretty sure Julia Gillard never actually uttered those words.

In fact, as I recall, she was as full of the PC multicultural bullsh*t as the rest of them.

I remember some while ago this 'speech' was attributed to Julia Gillard. At the time I was mightily impressed!
Looking on the web now I see that there are some mentions of her having uttered the words, but a lot of postings denying that she did. Other references suggest that the 'speech' is some kind of compendium of things that she did in the main say at some point in time.
In any event I endorse the sentiments expressed, whoever penned them.
