No appointment necessary for the Dermatologist. Appointment needed for the Cardiologist.
You ask to see the relevant specialist at Reception. No need to see a GP for any specialist doctor. Cost €6 for a specialist and €3 for the GP.

Checked when I was at the hospital earlier this week.

Like you I have just turned up and seen the dermatologist within a short time.
However to see my Cardiologist I have to make an appointment with the appointments clerk, not the receptionists.
Maybe different cardiologists have differing methods regarding seeing people.

Hi Trev

A Receptionist gave me this information - probably refers to the initial appointment only as speaking to a lady who goes to the Cardiology Department regularly she said that after she has seen the Cardiologist she makes the next appointment with a member of his staff (she thinks it is the nurse).

Set off to Paphos hospital with my wife today to get our repeat prescriptions and for me to get a blood test for my cardiologist and to try and see a dermatologist.
Got it into my head this was going to take all morning.
Arrived at 8.15am,went to get the blood test done but the que was too much so went down to the reception to register to see dr Maxim as he came highly recommended.Vry quick through reception then round the corner to the doctors room.Only one before us.Was in within 5 minutes. He gave us ous repeat prescription and I told him I think I needed to see a dermatologist. He agreed with me when he seen my problem.Went and registered to see the dermatologist and amazingly got in straight away.Got sorted out with him.Paid for our prescriptions and up to the blood testing place. No que this time. All done in 5 minutes.
We were on our way out the hospital at 9.15 am.
My initial thoughts were way out and I ended up a happy chappie.B7

Good news bad news.

Some time ago someone told me that Dr Karvounaris was so good he would stay working for the Cy NHS for long.

Tried to make an appointment with him yesterday and he's left !!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is now in private practice at the Evangelismos.
