I wish to thank once more all those kind people who gave me recommendations for cataract surgery - particularly Trev. I went to see Dr Maria at the Iasis at the end of last month and on Saturday last I had a cataract removed from my right eye (that one was the worst of the two). I had follow up on Sunday morning and again today plus I am to see her on Thursday morning. The operation itself was performed by Dr Geogre Papamichael (Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon) assisted by Dr Maria. Everything went well - the actual removal took just 15 minutes with no discomfort whatsoever (and I was terrified when I went there) but I cannot praise the personnel involved more highly. I can see so much better through my right eye without spectacles. So this coming Saturday I am to have the left eye done and hope my experience is the same on that day too. For those interested in the cost it was 1600 euros per eye but so far worth every penny.

So Jim start putting your pennies away and get yours done sooner rather than later. There is some preperation before the op with several doses of drops etc which takes some time but, as I say above, the operation itself is over before one realises with absolutely no pain.

Great news Rita glad all went well. I will be getting mine done sooner or later, saving up to get this treatment.I was quoted €170 last year for one eye.

I had a small procedure done by Dr Maria last year that involved two eye injections, not pleasant but the outcome was OK, just Retina floaters caused by my Diabetes, she is also is a lovely lady..

Was that a typo Jim ? Big difference between what Rita paid 1,600 and your quote 170 .
