soluble pain relief

Postby Sadie » 27 Apr 2014 17:58

Hi all
In the UK I swear by Anadin in soluble form they are quick to work and offer excellent pain relief for headaches and general aches and pains. Is there a soluble equivalent you good folks can recommend that is easily purchased in the Paphos area?
thanks as always

Bring a supply with you when you come over. We bring our supply of Asda paracetemol and soluble asprin. It is only recently that supermarkets have started selling over the counter medicines

I agree also, bring your own over. Its best to take what you know.

A couple of years ago I bought soluble Panadol in Paps for 2.95 euro for 24 tablets. Still got most of them unused.

I much prefer Nurofen meltets at £2.50 for 16 in the UK which melt on your tongue without the need for water and have a nice taste. Easy to carry around with you when you are out and about.

Thanks for your replies - however after June/July we will no longer be UK based so cannot bring a stash with us. I wondered if there was something that was more readily available in Paphos area

Alpha Mega now stock over the counter tablets. Also, any chemist. Friends and neighbours will be willing to bring out small items, but I would stock up with tablets bought in the UK as they are likely to be cheaper. We supply our neighbours with asda hot cross buns at Easter, bringing out a handluggage case full of them.

There are many good painkillers available from Cyprus pharmacies - Remedol and Cataflam to name but 2, and Ariston is highly recommended for dental pain too aswell as the known brands! Some are made here so don't attract the high price of imported stuff.

Do check with the chemist if the painkillers can increase blood pressure. I was taking Areston, I didn't think to tell my doctor as its over-the-counter medicine. He told me to stop taking them and immediately my BP went right down. I now take Paracetomol.

I just buy Solpadine over the counter here in Cyprus.

I sometimes get migraine and when I do, I can't take paracetamol or any other tablet which I need to swallow as the migraine makes me gag. I find soluble tablets are much better and Solpadine work pretty well.
