I don't believe the above advice to be correct. The Cyprus authorities will set their own conversion rate. This is normally posted in the Government offices (Tax Dept)

last time I was in the tax office in Larnaca it was posted on the wall I suppose the tax office in Paphos would do the same ~ especially as there's probably more UK expats in Paphos .

I thought it would be Cyprus as they live in Emba. There has been a post on this before but the search facility was compromised recently.

Yes when I went in a couple of weeks ago to do my defence levy payment the rate on the wall for 2011 was 1.16
