You should be getting this exchange rate according to XE.Com, normally they are very close.

1.00 GBP = 1.15948 EUR

No doubt you get what they offer in those Kiosks, I never use them now. (Personally)

I moved my account from Nationwide to Metro Bank while I was back in the UK and have just started using it here. I can highly recommend the bank to anyone who is able to open an account. (Branches only in the London area at the moment). On Nov. 2nd Memory Man said the rate by the Pizza express was €114.09 (€1.1410) and I got €1.1648 the same morning. A friend with a NW account and I both withdrew €340 at the same time about 2 weeks ago and, because of NW's charges, I paid about £3.50 less for my euros. Pat

I have a N/W gold credit card which still gives a good rate (not for cash obviously) without charges.

I don't think it's available to new subscribers though. :-(

J.B. The NW credit card is still rated as one of the best cards to use abroad but I was talking about their debit card, which, after they brought in charges, added nearly £7 to the cost when withdrawing around €340. (£1 to use the ATM and then 2%). That's why I changed to Metro. Pat

If you go here:- http://www.moneyextra.com/advice/touristrates/ and look at Spain for the Euro it will give you a good idea of the least you should be getting.

Harbour rates can be as much as 2 cents higher

Hi Rob,
Thanks for info, but I need to know what the rate IS down at the harbour.
It fluctuates even on a daily basis.
If a member happens to be down at the harbour, or works down there, then their looking at the rate the shops are offering would be appreciated.

Its like going the bar for a pint, I want to know the price of the pint and I want the pint right there and then, not approx what it should cost or you can order that pint online and you get a better rate try this company but it will arrive tommorrow at the bar for you.
Otherwise I leave the bar and go to another bar or come back when they charge a reasonable price for the said pint.

Hi Cliffy..

This will only be useful information to you if you are in the area, as it changes daily even hourly.

Yes Jim I agree, and I'm in the area.
it is also an indication of what you will get when you arrive in Cyprus maybe next week, if your in the UK, thinking of changing some money and are offered the rip off rates you get from the likes of the Post Office in the uk.
I have just shot down there and changed some.
Yes 114.09 for 100.00 gbp
114.2 for 500.00 gbp
114.5 for 1000 gbp
Ive got a decent rate now I'm happy :)
Now were's that bar doing a pound a pint?

Shops by Skydive were offering €1.149 today, at lunchtime. However, for cash, we use our Zero debit card, and for purchases, our Zero Credit Card. Usually get 1 cent more.

Only glanced at the sign as we were walking from Paps to Theos, so cannot say if there was a minute 0 in front of the 9. The two kiosks by Sky dive seem to offer the best exchange rate, but, as I said, we never exchange money at these now. When we did, we made sure we counted the money at the counter as soon as we received it.

IMHO the exchange rate should improve today.
I've checked online and ex. rate is best since March 2011.

Will post up harbour rates after 1000am.
