Amazing really.
Cyta actually charge a fee for self-installation (€35.70). How can they possibly charge for your own labour? Brilliant if you can get away with it. Then again, they do..................

Still, it is Cyprus :)) =))

Don't get me going on the cost of internet in Cyprus. The sooner the EU steps in the better!

Ok, I can understand that if you want internet, you have to pay for line rental as well (no different to the UK in this respect). €12.26 a month for line rental (with no landline access) I can just about live with.

But an "installation" charge of €109.28 for an access line when there is already a working telephone line in the property??? Where is the competition? You would think that they might want to attract new customers and get rid of this silly fee.

And yes, €35.70 for "self installation". I can only presume that this is effectively the price of the router. Free with Primetel, and the Primetel man actually takes it out of the cardboard box for you and plugs it into your telephone socket, and checks it all works.

Now we come on to the cost of 6 or 8 MG internet. No, rant over, I need to get a drink and calm down :-)

Keving, as you have mentioned the cost in Cy for internet, I feel I have to comment.

In UK I have landline rental, all calls anytime (except the silly numbers of course), and 10 meg bandwidth (measured to my house) all for £18 per month.

Oh yes?

The market is just too small?

Then why has Lithuania with a population of 2.9million got much better and cheaper internet than the UK?

Jim, on your mag250 go into

system settings ... servers ... portals ...

Here you will see a box to enter "Portal 1 name" and a box to enter "Portal 1 URL"

this is the IPTV service that you are subscribed to.

For example in my portal name I have telly connect, with a URL of tv.ukfta-iptv.com
