Wireless Internet Providers

Postby tsadapeter » 08 Feb 2015 04:58

I am not happy any more with my current provider for wireless Internet.
The pros and cons of different outfits must have been discussed before?
Only the search function in this forum does not help me.

Can anyone point me to earlier posts, please?
Or share experience?

Thanks

Hi, had the wireless for many years, very poor in all aspects, always felt will just have to accept the quality and service, which quite frankly was appalling, bit the bullet In the end. If you have a landline into the property go with a provider using a landline. I use CYTA never looked back, service excellent, sytems works perfect. 99.9% of the time. I pay for 4 meg I get 4 meg the needle never drops. Been where you are, best advice I can give. Richard.

We also use Fusion IT. Service is excellent and we only activate and pay for the connection when we are in Cyprus.

Thanks,

Problem with CYTA seems to be that they only provide to "door step" and do not deal with getting the cable to where one needs it - despite quite hefty Installation Charge. Or has that changed?

We too got fed up with wireless internet and went to CYTA- great service.
They supplied and connected the wire from the road to the Elect box at the Villa...
It is your responsibility to get the internal connection (s) to the Elect box at the Villa...if that makes sense...
As our Villa already had pre installed telephone points internally all we had to do was upgrade the wiring inside , a simple job of pulling the old wires out and putting in new.
You do need to have qualified engineer to look at the installation and report back to CYTA... with the application....
After 12 mths , i would never go back to wireless....

Hi was it expensive for cyta to be installed we are thinking of moving there is phone sockets in the building but no wires behind them and what do you mean by it is up to the individual to connect from prop to elec box

The customer is responsible for any wiring inside the house. Cyta will bring the line/conetcion to you box which is usually outside the house. Such internal wiring is no Problem if the are already ducts in place (since you have sockets you may have the ducts). In any case it takes a bit of DIY or an electrician - CYTA will have none of it.

At least this was the case until two or three years ago....
