CABINET has approved a bill to extend the deadline for paying Immovable Property Tax until November 30, 2015. The bill also provides for a 15% discount for those who pay by the end of October – plus a further discount of 2.2% is available if payment is made online via JCC Smart. The proposals were tabled by the Cyprus Finance Minister Harris Georgiades. Immovable Property Tax rates and bands remain the same at last year:

Anyone willing to bet that we'll still be using the 1980 value in 2016?

We only received our title deeds this year. I would appreciate it if somebody could advise me if the immovable property tax bills have been sent out, as we have not received one yet. We were thinking of going down to the land registry this week to enquire, as we would like to pay before the end of November. Any advice would be appreciated.

The Tax Office in Nicosia started issuing IPT Notices a couple of weeks ago - and they have literally hundreds of thousands to issue.

Leave it a few weeks, the deadline for the discount is 30 November.

(We haven't received our yet.)

Received my bill last week. Found it very simple to pay on-line though the JCC website, complete with 20% discount. Such a small amount it hardly seems worth the government producing and sending out a bill. They do say, pay peanuts and get monkeys! :))

Hi Nigel

I registered for at the Tax office last year for IPT purposes.

This year i was talking to another owner on our development who told me that you have to go in every year to see if you have anything to pay?

Surely this cannot be correct? all the other threads on this seem to suggest that the tax authorities will issue letters in the coming weeks if you are liable for IPT for 2015.

Kind regards

Hi,

Some people at the Eastern end of the island have the same problem - some without deeds have received IPT notices while others have not.

I suggest you pop into the Tax Office or give them a call. (I'm in the UK at the moment - otherwise I'd call Nicosia head office to see what's happening.)
