Traditional Hardware Store

Postby Happy in Cyprus » 07 Jul 2015 17:23

Yes, I know Paphos has some tucked away in the back streets, but the one I came across in Nicosia today is rather special, by virtue of it's size and the range of goods it sells. Almost every item that you could wish for to live and work in the traditional way is here; from zivania stills to wooden bread trays to animal feed utensils, sieves, bizum brooms to fizzy pop bottles like we used to have in the 1950's. I've passed this shop many times and meant to stop and have a look, but today I made the time. I believe this shop was featured recently in an article in the Sunday Mail.

If you want to go and have a look next time you're in Nicosia it's at: L L Lambrou Milanna Ltd, 16A & B Avenue Evgenias kai Antoniou Theodotou, 1061 Nicosia. Tel: 22 752935. But be aware, very little English spoken. Love the outlandish automobile names given to the traditional BBQ's

Great photos. In the 2nd & 3rd photos, what are those silver things that look like robots?
