i have an appt with oncologist at the general, can anyone tell me what costs are involved to see them, also if i need xray or ultrasound how much does it cost? i am a UK pensioner with an S1 / medical card. i have very little money and dont want to turn up there to find i dont have enough to pay. thank you

When you go to register at the front desk on your visit, the cost will be €6. There should be no further cost for Xrays or scans. If you are prescribed any medication in your prescription book, you need to put a 50c stamp on the back of the prescription for Each item on it.

pkb1.... try not to worry. There are people on here who will have been to onclogy and so are in a similar situation to you.
I know it is not good being a 'newbie' at the hospital.
