Hi, we also live in remote location but have just had from MTN a cube box, satellite internet 3G works a dream, unlimited usage subject to fair use policy. The connection is constant and quick..... Only 29.99 a month as well

Are the two systems mentioned working from a satellite , or they from land based transmitters ?

I suppose satellite internet could be used to describe any system that is not hard wired .

I am with DSS they use a satellite style dish , but it has to be line of sight to the transmitter , which I think is in Polemi .

Mine is using a Hughes Corp satellite, I have small ground station transmitter and receiver with a 1.2 m dish, I transmit up to the satellite which then transmits to a ground station in Germany. I do not receive a 3G signal in my area which refers to the mobile phone network data system as I understand. There are also line of sight systems in more populated areas so I suppose small dishes will improve transmission quality.
