Postby juliesewell » 08 Feb 2015 17:19

They say it's on its' way to sunny Cyprus:

However, nobody seemed too worried about it today:

Not sure about icy blast; most days (on: http://www.wunderground.com/weather-forecast/CY/Paphos.html?MR=1 ) for the week ahead are showing 13-17C. Still, another six weeks and our Spring will be starting :) Gosh, those surfboarders must be hardy souls!

I was wondering what temperature is signified by the term "icy" in Cyprus :D

Judging by the pictures taken by the Ski Club web cam, the ski slope with a covering of hard packed snow looks icy!
Today, where I live started out mild, but after a shower this afternoon the temperature has dropped and the northerly wind feels cold... I guess that the temperature will drop further tonight.

I think this is where the "Icy blast " comes in.

Cold air coming down from up north and heading for us .

I get the impression that sometime tomorrow (afternoon, I think) the wind is about to change and most definitely for the worse and that's when the temperature will start to drop.

It's times like this with cold winter snaps and in the summer when it's too hot and humid that I'm glad I have to go to work.... at least I can whack the heat or the A/C on without having to worry about the cost! :D
