Paphos Airport - Kissonerga taxi cost

Postby galexinda » 19 Nov 2016 18:06

Friends come out to Kissonerga about 5-8 times a year and previously hired a car each time from the airport. Now they have bought their own vehicle for use while they are here and are looking for a taxi that will collect them from airport and take them to their house near Paphos Computers/Revival/Buyrite in Kissonerga and do the return trip at the end of their visit. Have been quoted by one company €32 per journey. Is that a reasonable fare?

Another possibility - My Russian neighbour leaves his vehicle at Park and Go (on the Paphos Limassol Road just past the airport turn off). They keep the car secure, and when he returns to the island, they collect him from the airport and take him to the car. Conversely when he drops his car off they take him to the airport. He's not here at the moment so I can't ask him what he pays, but I recall that he said the deal he worked out with them was reasonable enough to make it a viable option. It is worth asking to see how it compares with white knuckle taxi rides.

Thanks for the speedy reply and helpful information. Leaving the car at an airport car park isn't an option in this case because they want the car left at their property in between visits. The link to Rocky is very good and it is good to have a list of charges to various destinations.

We have our car in Cyprus and we leave it in the safe hands of Autoairparks near the airport. The cost to us is €250 per year. We are met at the airport each time and on returning to the UK we are taken to the airport. Always good service and Chris and Gaynor the English owners who are always ready to help in any way they can. For example getting the car MoT'd every 2 years for us are all part of their excellent service. We think this works out cheaper than taxis 5 to 8 times a year and the car is safely housed on a secure compound. Give them a phone call

A car that doesn't move for weeks on end is a sure sign the house is unoccupied and thus a temptation for burglars.

Yes that is very true KG - just what the thieving rat bags are looking for!! It never ceases to amaze me how careless people still are - our neighbours never leave a light on in the house when they go out and others always leave the outside porch light on which shows they are out. We always leave a light/lights on, often some music and never leave the porch light on but take a torch with us if we are returning when dark so we can see to unlock the door, It just needs a bit of thought to try to be a bit more security conscious.

They have told me car will be used by other members of the family when they are visiting Cyprus.

Thanks a lot - have sent the link to this topic to my friends so they can read all your suggestions.

Just to let you know we also have other family and friends visiting at other times and they have use of the car. we always let Autoairpark knowdates and times etc and they meet and greet all of them in fact there is no limit on these times from them all this is included in their once yearly price. If you have family and friends using your place as well that could be a lot of taxi fares which would certainly add up to over €250. Therefore Cost wise it would make sense.

Correct JB, an empty driveway is more an indicator of an empty house than one in which the car fails to move a few cms one way or the other.
