If it's for recycling I don't know where they collect from! At one time there were plenty of recycling bins in Paphos. Slowly but surely most have been removed. Many of the ones that are left (that have not been torched) are treated with contempt and filled with old tv's, food waste, broken toys - in fact everything but plastic, glass, paper.
For years we religiously sorted all our recycling material and about once a week placed it in bins we were passing. All the ones we used have gone and I hate to say it but our 'recycling' goes in with the ordinary waste. Not sure what the EU would say about the curse of the disappearing recycling bins.

Maybe they don't collect but rely on people to take their 'special' rubbish to the appropriate skip at the recycle centre

There is a BIG recycling area on the land adjacent to the Monastery Cats site at Tala/Tremithousa and more bins regularly collected by the football ground also in Tala. There must be others elsewhere, just there is no information on their whereabouts!

Hi,

There is a similar site just outside Polis, you take the recycling yourself and the staff on site let you know which skip to use. Seems well organised.

There is also one just off the Ayia Varvara industrial state. You have to state what type of waste you are dumping (they check) and you are directed to the appropriate skip.

Then you supply your car registration, phone number and village. You must also state that it's personal (not commercial) waste. You then sign a statement of the above and are issued a receipt.

Excellent service, especially considering it's free.

Hi Kansas

Can you give directions to the Agia Vavara one please? I've driven through the industrial estate but not spotted it.

Thanks

If you drive from the Ayia Varvara end along the top road through the industrial estate you reach a T junction at the end of the state. Turn left there and carry on along the fairly rough track until you see the the skips in a fenced area on you left.
