Well we tried Georgie Porgie's today. All-day breakfast, any item 50c, minimum of 3 items, so we had 6 each and a portion of chips to share. Coffee was included but we also had a cold drink each to start, and the whole lot came to a tenner. Faultless service, top quality food. We'll be back.

We have today had lunch at Georgie Porgie's and it was excellent. Large portions nicely presented and very reasonable in our opinion. 2 Mains, 2 puddings and 2 drinks = 21 Euros. They have a very good menu and do a 3 course evening meal for 16.95 euros with lots of choices, plus a free glass of wine. Would thoroughly recommend.

I believe it was known as Brian's Plaice, or The Chlock Inn, in previous lives (in case you can navigate by either of those). We have friends coming next month and are planning to take them...

Went there for lunch yesterday. Chose the daily special - battered cod and chips. Very good and good value, with large Keo just over 9 Euros.

Also good friendly service and looked to be busy so hope this time it works for this venue.

One thing we did not mention to the lovely owners last night, please make sure those fresh chips are cooked through, we all had undercooked chips unfortunately, really great value as was those drinks prices, €2.20 for a large beer was extraordinary good value, we wish the restaurant all the best..

Went by there today at 10.45 and again at 12.00 - both times full of people. Lots do seem to like it - perhaps they were all grockles (sorry - tourists  ) having their breakfasts.

Thank you to those of you who've left your kind reviews here, those who seem to have nothing but bad words to say when you've not even tried it, maybe should keep their opinions to themselves. Its no wonder so many eating establishments come and go so quickly here in Cyprus when people dont give them a chance. Georgie Porgies are offering simple home cooked homely foods using quality ingredients at extreamly low prices and so far so good a growing regular customer base of I might add around 90% ex pats who eat here 2, 3 times a week some of them and Sunday lunches are very very popular.
Thank you

Most of us including myself can only wish you the very best of luck and you go from strength to strength, but please remember this section is not just for glowing reports, remembering also it gives you a chance to put any problems to rights, if members post negatively in a manner fitting then this will inevitably be to your advantage to give you a chance to put things right! if indeed there are any problems.

You will never please everyone, but I agree those who posted some comments above have not used your restaurant, this is unfair to make comments on that basis.

good luck with Georgie Porgies..

Just like to add that we had a very nice cooked breakfast this morning at Georgie Porgie's. Everything was freshly cooked for us and it was really great to be served a large cup of coffee/tea complimentary with the breakfast. Well done, I wish them all the best.

If you want your food served cold, try the General Hospital, any ward will do.

Believe me the Iasis private hospital was no better than the general, had a two week stint in there, talk about gruff grub! the wife was bringing in food parcels. But the medical service was second to none, and I needed to lose a stone or three.

We have eaten there twice now in as many weeks, both times the service, food and prices were excellent.

Yesterday, our lad decided he was a little peckish and opted for the Yorkshire pub filled with bangers and mash. Well, you could have worn the yorkshire pud to Ascot as a hat it was that big..... needless to say it beat him (but only just). Three of us had the fish and chips which was lovely and the cottage pie that FIL had was a good size and very tasty.... Five hungry bods left there very satisfied :)

Went there for the first time with a couple of friends, en-route to the airport, for an all day breakfast. It was a Sunday but about 10.30 am,before they stop serving breakfasts on a Sunday to cater for the lunch diners.
I must say I was pleasently surprised at the freshly cooked food. I included the black pudding(as a Norhern lad) in mine, my wife Bristol born wouldn't touch it but enjoyed her meal minus black pudding. Excellent value and friendly service. We went for a lunch later in the week and opted for the value for money breakfast again at 4.95 each. Will definitly re-visit and this time try one of the pies!

Went there for Sunday lunch yesterday -chose the beef. Had the best Yorkshire pud I've tasted on the island.Beef was succulent and tasty. Started with mushroom soup - again very tasty and just had room to finish off with home made lemon merangue pie. Their cappucino was also well above average.

Overall an excellent meal at 16 Euros including a glass of wine and the coffee.

Georgie Porgies

Postby amanda&sam » 24 Mar 2012 14:19

We have been several times and enjoy it each time, its one of our favourite places to eat, we visited last night and noticed the hard working owners have made a few new additions - we enjoyed a new Early Bird menu (we just made on time it its on 4-6.30pm) I had Fish and chips and Sam had Homemade Pie which was chicken and mushroom his was 5.95 mine 6.95 but the drinks are INCLUDED for that price I had a wine and he had a beer (large carlsberg bottle). The food as always was excellent , and the owners are so friendly - well done you guys Oh nearly forgot they are offering fish and chips to take away now too for 6.50 , if you call first theyll have them ready so you wont need to wait.

You are right it's what the site is here for but such glowing comments about an establishment from a member's first post can appear suspicious.

In some cases we have had competitors join purely to rave about their own businesses and/or discredit their rivals!

Not really surprised to read that this restaurant is for sale.

We went there for Christmas Day Lunch _ food was good, when it eventually arrived. two ladies who had ordered the vegetarian option on another table had their meals served first. About 30 minutes later the remaining members of their party had their meals. We waited 1hr 20 mins between the starter and main course.

Went along there the other day as I fancied a gammon steak with pineapple. Parked outside the restaurant at lunch time a few people there so we went inside and looked at the menu - decided to return that evening for a meal.

Returned at 7pm. CLOSED. On the entrance door was a sign saying that they were closed in the evenings due to illness!

We called in at another UK establishment near GB Euro on the Coral Bay Road - chef and family sitting outside smoking and petting their dog! Had a superb meal at Coral King!
