Pool pump capacitor

Postby CRITCH435 » 22 Mar 2015 22:12

Hi just arrived for a weeks holiday and the pool pump wont start, I suspect it is the kick start capacitor. Is there anywhere that I can get one to try before I have to fork out for a new pump

All best

Try Nikoledes Electrical, I bought a Capacitor for a pump there.

They are located on Kaniggos Street which is on the right as you head up to Papantoniu from the Police Station

There's a motor repair shop on the Polis Road in the vicinity of Morellos cake bakery, should it be required.

Good news. I managed to get the pump working. Problem was I had a solar pump fitted in the summer and the pool guy has not switched em old lecturing one on is cel you need. Run these now and again or they will corrode and stick on the armature. Took the back cover off gave it a little turn hey presto. Runs. Rgds

Yes Paphos - Morellos (best cake shop in Paphos by a wide margin) is on the left as you travel up the hill from Papantoniou to the Garden of Eden fruit market. However it seems you won't now require it :)

I had a similar problem with my central heating earlier this year. We have separate pumps for upstairs, downstairs and hot water, but we rarely use the upstairs heating so the pump does not get to run very often, and this year when it was most needed it wouldn't run. I looked for a manual for the (Grundfoss) pump on line to investigate how to disassemble it, and came across a video on uTube which suggsted that this pump was prone to sticking if not used and a sharp tap with a hammer and screwdriver will free it. The pump was duly tapped and sure enough it now works again.

Can I ask what you paid for your solar pool pump gear? I will shortly be having my pool pipes replaced and a new pump room built. I was wondering if it would be worth including provision for a solar powered pump?
