Hi, some advice needed as we cannot use our pool at the moment! We had the sand filter changed yesterday to the glass stuff. That was all done fine and they also replaced the filter switch (the handle that goes round thru filter/waste/backwash etc as it was corroded). After they left we vaccumed the pool to waste to get rid of any sediment from our chlorine (we have an overflow pool and use chlorine briquettes which leave a residue). The pool was fine and nice and clear. We also added more chlorine as we do daily to keep the levels correct. I tested the pool water with a testing stick and all the readings were fine (the acid is often high due to our water in the village and I regularly add ph minus to keep it in check). The cyunaric acid level is spot on as we monitor it carefully due to my husbands skin and if it goes out of balance he can't swim. After cleaning the poolwe went into the pump room and the top of the filter was spraying water - one of the bolts was loose. The pool company came back and found the bolt had severed so they had to go and get another one. They came back and spent ages drilling something and then said we couldn't use the filter for at least and hour. We waited for nearly 2 hours and when we put it on a load of sand like substance came pumping into the pool from the inlet. We assumed this was stuff in the pies and I tested the water again to find it was ok so my husband swam even though it didn't look too nice. The pump was turned off and came on again this morning and after about and hour the pool looked even worse - could hardly see the bottom. The company say it is a chemical problem and are coming to test the water on Monday. They say there is nothing wrong with the filter. Does anyone have any idea what caused this - the pool has never been cloudy and I have always kept the chemicals perfect as my husbands skin so sensitive. We stopped using tablets for this reason. Any help/advice greatly appreciated.
