Does anyone know if it is just a rumour or is true that The Bad Cat in Kissanergor is closing.

Hope Rumour not true!!

It wouldn't surprise me there is never anyone there.
Shame if it's true as the meals are nice there, but I think they should open the room downstairs as lots of people are put off by having stairs to climb and the loos being down yet more stairs.

We went there in June and found it average at best so wouldn't be surprised.

Well we tried the Bad Cat last October and sent this email which they totally ignored.

We thought you would like to hear are thoughts on the restaurant.

The food and service was excellent.

However we must say the lighting was far to bright and clinical, the music was loud and inappropriate for a relaxing dining experience, it was difficult to compete with the vocal artists being broadcast on the loud speakers.

Also the seating doesn't encourage you to stay to long as they extremely uncomfortable. Finally paper napkins don't bode well for fine dining, particularly with type of food you are serving.

We hope you accept our comments as constructive, we say again the food and service was excellent.

Amazing no reply no wonder there is the rumour abound, and we didn't return.

Toilet location is a problem in 2016.

Eight months ago they promised me that they were installing a lift. Last month I asked and was told we are installing a lift. Hmm Pigs might fly.

Why odd? There are other restaurants in that area and they all seem to have lasted!

We've been and agree about the toilets, although when I asked the owner if he'd be remedying the situation he said plans were to install one on the same level as the restaurant but obviously that's not happened..!

Personally it wouldn't be an issue to me - you can always phone in advance to check just in case you fancy it, in fact the phone number's outside isn't it so you could call while you're sat there if you pull in?!

As I said there are restaurants in that location doing well in the season, there are many rental properties and a few hotels there too that they get trade from. If you had passed it while driving to/from CBay you may want to put it on your list of places to try...!

Grrr you do sound like a difficult person to please...!

The on-road marketing is brilliant: I love the name and the signage. What's missing whenever I've driven past is a view of the restaurant itself: it's set too far back. For that reason you can't get a 'feel' for the restaurant...or see how busy it is.

We were going to go there for a Sunday meal a few weeks back, having decided that we wanted non taverna-type food. But when we checked the menu, we found that were faced with taverna-type food only (no alternative for Sunday lunchtime it seems), so never went in the end.

You forgot the fourth one - Promotion.

I would also like to add to the list - customer service.

When we go out for a drink or a meal, it's not just about the food, prices and location. I am more likely to return to a place if the level of service is good and remains constant on repeat visits.

As kili1 says recommendation by word of mouth is a very important way of extending your customer base and it can also have a detrimental effect if personal reviews are poor.

We are fortunate to have such good free newspaper and magazines published every month in Paphos and there are various websites offering deals so there are plenty of opportunities for all types of businesses to advertise.

Could not agree more re Customer Service! We have stopped going to what was one of our favourite Restaurants because of what we deemed to be poor customer service on our last visit. This Restaurant was lovely to us when we held quite a large party there and brought them quite a lot of repeat business from it but on our last visit the owner and wife virtually ignored us instead of their usual little chat. No one asked us if we had enjoyed the meal and when we asked for the bill as we wanted to leave quite quickly even then nothing at all was said and they only had one other table in.

Well that is fine if that is what they want but they will not get us back again and no I will not name and shame them on here,
