Cataracts

Postby Pam & Chris » 23 Feb 2015 16:05

Does anyone have recent experience of having cataracts treated in Paphos? If so could they recommend any particular hospital and what sort of cost is involved. I have looked on the Health section and the last entry there on cataract treatment is over 2 years old.

Will be contacting hospitals to check on treatment available but would appreciate any input from someone who has had cataracts treated here in Paphos recently.

Thanks, Chris

Hi. I was recommended, by my Optician in Paphos, to use the Pantheo Eye Centre in Limassol as they had what he considered to be the best Ophthaimic Surgeon in Cyprus, a Dr Theodoros Potamitis. My Optician also believed that the Centre used the best quality lenses available which should be considered as an important factor. Insofar as I was concerned I was extremely satisfied with the treatment provided and have no hesitation in providing a firm recommendation. Well worth the trips to Limassol and the extra expense over and above what was being offered, at that time, by the Iasis hospital in Paphos.

Don't know if you got my pm, but would like to reiterate what Bill, who initially recommended us to Dr Theodoros Potamitis, said. Rosemary is extremely happy with the results of her operation.

I too had my eyes done here about 6 years ago and cannot fault them. Initially I went to their clinic in the Polis Road also for my follow up appointments but not sure if it is still there.
It was over the large bookshop which I think is called Kyriakou, almost opposite Kolios Butchers.

I had my cateract done also by Dr. Ellanas of the Pentheo Clinic in Limassol two years ago with no problems. He consults at his office on the Polis Road initially and after the operation. No problems.

Dr Maria at the Iasis is also recommended by several members, I have used her for another problem, I asked about Cataract removal as I have the start of one and they charge about £1.600 per eye.

Hi, I have had both eyes done recently by Dr Maria at the Iasis. Very very happy with the results and with the after care. The cost was 1600 per eye.
