Don't forget that its not just eating fat that puts the calories in! You have to consider if you eat too much of anything that your body can't use, it has no option other than store it as fat! (more or less). So if you eat a lot of protein your body will use all that it needs but then anymore will be broken down and stored in the body.
Low fat is a little bit of a con when it comes to "diets", as a bag of sugar is low fat ! Its massively high in calories and little else but it is very much free of fat.
Best approach is to adjust to a "healthy" diet (lifestyle). Eat plenty of fresh things.. fresh fruit, fresh veg, fresh salad.... lay off the deep fried stuff, but don't avoid it completely as a little every now and again is ok as a treat.
Enjoy your new healthy eating and enjoy the food you eat.
