Sheds and outdoor buildings

Postby we2 » 28 May 2011 07:48

As a response to a PM I received to a post on another thread I thought I would post a link here to a company in the UK who will supply sheds and garden buildings at a fraction of the cost they are here. (sometimes less than half the price)
This company will deliver to free of charge in the UK and companies like Burke Bros. will deliver to your door in Cyprus at sensible prices.
Given the ridiculous prices some of the garden centres and builders merchants on the Island want for (in some cases) exactly the same product it is worth looking at shipping from the UK. (or other EU countries)

http://www.waltons.co.uk/ (NTDWM)
Are the company I have dealt with but I'm sure there are more out there there.

Another example of savings that can be made by shipping your larger requirements from the UK was a shower screen I wanted for over the bath.

Price here for a low end, white aluminium framed, plastic glazed, 3 fold screen.....€220
Price from UK for good quality, white aluminium framed, toughened glass glazed, 3 fold shower screen..... £59 + £60 delivery door to door.

The reason given by the Cypriot shop owner for the €220 price tag. "It's best quality and has to be shipped from Italy" Do they think we are all stupid?

One day the Cypriot retailers will wake up and realise there is a big wide world out there that is now easily accessible.
But It will probably be too late.
Global warming has been happening since the last ice age.

As Brian knows I have been in contact with him about this idea. We too (no pun) want a shed (or Dad does) and the prices are very dear here. So, we will be looking into this possibility.

Burke brothers prices certainly seem very competitive.

I have been trying to get a Plinth kitchen heater from the UK. The heater is about £45. The parcel is about 50 x 60 x 15 and weighs 4 kg. The cost for the parcel to Paphos..... over €60. Crazy..

I've just bought a 9 x 8 good quality metal shed with free delivery to a UK address for £264! It's being shipped over here priced by cubic feet so very cheap. Feel free to pm me if you want the contact details of the gent who has a container delivered to Cyprus every month for your purchases.
