I just had a phone call on my Lan line an Indian sounding chap said he had received some emails from my account (he did not give email address) saying I sent him a virus email, I did realise that it was a scam of some kind and put the phone down instantly, anyone else had this?
Last night I received a similar phone call from what may have been the same fella. He said he was from Microsoft Windows Centre. Stated that they had noticed that I was having some problems with Windows over the last few days. I have not by the way. He said to go to my computer and log on. I told him I was off the computer for today and if there was a problem he should make contact through the Windows System or by email. He then hung up.
Think it was a scam after reading some of the notes am wven more sure.
same thing happened to me a couple of days ago. It was obvious to me it was a scam but i thought i'd keep him talking for a while if only to bump up his fone bill! He said his name was Ronald Dawson (with that accent? yeah, right)! foning from an office in Oxford. He even gave me a fone number when I asked which had an Oxford area code but there was 1 digit missing from the number. Got bored in the end so i told him to go forth and multiply!
I've had 2 but assumed it was the Microsoft scam, they asked to speak to me by name - I just put the phone down on the desk while I went to find myself!
My goal in life is to be as good a person as my dogs already think I am!
