Cosmonet...anyone tried them?

Postby jesmic » 16 Apr 2012 19:33

Hi all,
I am thinking of providing Wi-Fi access to my rental property in Coral Bay. I came across a flyer from a company called Cosmonet who offer a service that gives you wi-fi without the need of a phone line. Basically from what I can gather you pay a 1 off installation/hardware fee of about €160 then a monthly fee of between €15 - €43 depending on the data speed you opt for.

In theory this sounds great for what I want, as I can turn it on/off depending on my clients needs or if the the place is empty.

Can any of you help if you know anyone who has used this service or maybe you have this system yourselves, is it any good, is it reliable, will the service reach to Coral Bay (as I think the transmitter(s) for this service are based in Paphos.

Thanks in advance
Jim

We had Cosmonet installed on 5th March and used it whilt we were out - it was very reliable. As it is a switch on/off service we switched it off after two weeks and will be switching it back on in May.

the two young guys who run it were very friendly and efficient and I would recommend them.

Yes - once you have the Holitec system, you pay *only* when you ask for it to be connected.

For Cosmonet you do just pay for the time 'switched on'.

In practice you pay a monthly fee but if you switch it off after say 2 weeks then you still have the remainder of the month when you switch it back on.

Sorry can't comment on Holitec as haven't used them.
