I am moving to Cyprus in the next few months and will be renting a property but hoping to find p/t work. I have to take regular medication and need to have blood tests done every two months, can someone tell me if I need to pay for this treatment or will I be covered by EU regulations? I have been checking online for forms to complete in UK when you live abroad but it doesn't quite cover this subject?

Hi Trevor. You haven't put your age so we have to guess if you or your wife are of pensionable age, I guess not re the pt work.

Blood test are available here in what you may call 'walk in centres '.
cost would depend on what you were testing for.

If you have to buy medication here it is not cheap and what you use in the UK is not always available here. You May have to use a similar product.

I believe I am right in saying that to register with the government here you have to prove you can look after yourself medically wise. So you may need to join a medical insurance plan.

My pharmacist tells me that the more expensive the meds the bigger the reduction!
