That is a million dollar question Molly.

Everyone has a personal opinion on that one depending on how they interpret their or their friends treatment at a hospital in the past.

They all have to provide a medical and nursing service with trained practitioners so technically speaking they all should perform to the same standard.

In reality it has a lot to do with the personalities of the staff attending to your needs - their bedside manner so to speak.

As moderator I have to remain impartial but I have heard lots of stories myself - with conflicting opinions on the same hospital - so it would need to be your choice.

Don't hang around too long with that leg though.

Thanks Teresa - I'm trying to make my mind up on which hospital to 'take' my leg to.

Aout five years ago my wife had occassion to stay in the Blue Cross private hospital on the Tourist Route. She used to be a nurse at Charing Cross in London. Said it was basic but clean and tidy and she received excellent medical care. Some of the staff were English and she had no trouble being understood. Not the same as when she trained in the early 60's with all the discipline and things got done to Matron's exacting requirements - but what is these days. Other good thing about the Blue Cross is good local parking.

I always use the Evangelismos, but as Teresa says everyone has their own preference!

For A&E go to Evangelismos

Well Woman Clinic Evangelismos

I base the first on access and having very good staff on duty 24/7

Majority of others have either difficult access and have to call staff in although they claim a 24/7 service not the case

I base the second on the treatment given to my wife during her illness before she passed away.

If anyone wants to e mail for information I am here till 26 January

I liked the Iasis when I could afford insurance (now use the general) I had an operation in this hospital great after care good surgeon (Kritiotis) you cannot see where he went in to replace my hip very impressed with the experience, no fuss or bother always got what I asked for (not that much) private room, Sat TV and nice private shower room. All in all very impressed with that private hospital.
