Stroke Association

Postby CaroleandMark » 16 Apr 2010 19:50

Hi all;

Does anyone know if there is a Stroke Association in Paphos? I am in need of some practical advice on the care options available here in Cyprus for when someone leaves hospital after having a stroke.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you Jim. Various people have told me they have seen 'something' about strokes in one of the free magazines. I have had a look in all the ones I can get hold of, but haven't found anything yet......

Hi Carole,

I know of no stroke association in Cyprus. I have looked around for someone else who has had a stroke in Cyprus but all he managed to get was a paid carer and a private physiotherapist to help him regain some mobility.

Perhaps there is a need there for us to set one up. I am happy to do something if there is anyone out there to help. I have experience in a rehab team in the UK and worked on a stroke ward in a hospital.

If anyone is interested in setting something up with me please pm me and we can try to do something.

CYprus stroke association

To the best of my knowledge, there is no such oganization in Cyprus. I looked into it earlier this year. I would be most interested to hear if one is set up. I am in search of a minder for an elderly gent, a stroke victim. On either an occasional or a regula basis. Thanks.
