Buffering/Picture Freeze/Break Up

Postby Bo » 08 Sep 2015 14:10

Since my last post I have had both Android Boxes reprogrammed/updated, & increased my Cyta Internet speed from 4 to 6mb.
Neither box will fire up TV Addons, although in the shop, which runs 12 mb speed, they were fine. Film On & Films fire up OK.
So I have now obtained the latest Android Box, which fires up all applications fine, BUT I AM STILL SUFFERING PICTURE FREEZE & BREAK UP, especially between 9.30pm & 10.30pm on my MAG 254 Subscribed Box as well.
Does anybody else suffer this buffering on 6mb Cyta network & are we looking at 8mb to obtain problem free TV ?? The upgrade to 6mb does not seem to have have given a big improvement.
I am checking my Internet speed & not suffering major fluctuations.

Yes, we are getting buffering on 6mb.

I was told yesterday that at the end of the month Cyta are doubling all the speeds free of charge.

I cant promises whether this is true or not, but the source is usually right.

Thanks lion. They have of course done this before, so it could be true.

Have you re-set both your CYTA modem/router and your Mag/Android boxes? Switch each off in turn, leave off for about 20 seconds, then turn back on. Can work wonders sometimes.

Spoke with Cyta this morning - the free upgrade is going to happen but may be end of year

Bo, I would suggest that you may have a problem with CYTA. Being a tight-wad, I only have a 2 meg (CYTA) connection but rarely suffer freezing or buffering on my android.

I have 16MB modem and a Mag 250 box.

On catchup the vision and voice are not in sync.

I have been told that the problem is the bandwidth and not the download speed.

Thanks one & all for your suggestions.
I do regularly reset the router & the various boxes.
Do I now raise the issue with CYTA ???

When we had a bad lip-sync problem some years ago, I think I corrected it with the TV remote. Can't believe it would be a CYTA issue.

Is there not the ability somewhere in settings to delay or advance audio sync, as there is in xbmc/kodi?

That will be great ... if it happens. Thanks for letting us know.

For Bo , the buffer settings on a mag box . The instructions mention setting it up to 15 , but I found 2 was enough for me .
