Display Driver Fault

Postby Maramike » 17 Jun 2012 09:51

My pc has developed a problem which started a week or so ago and is now happening more frequently. The machine is working normally when without warning the mouse pointer freezes and will not move. A few seconds later the screen goes black. When the display returns everything is enlarges and the colours are fragmented, similar to the display when in safe mode. An error message appears which starts ‘the ialmrnt5 display driver has stopped working normally’. I then have to reboot the pc and wait for the same to happen all over again. Any ideas?

Presume you are using Windows? Which version???

Have you tried to update the driver?

In Win7, it's ...control panel / device manager / then open up the 'display adapters' tree and right click on your device and click 'update driver'

Another alternative is to take the uninstall option, then reboot and see if it reinstalls it properly.

:)

I was given the same recommendation from a friend of mine who is a computer technician (not in my locality), so I am sure it is valid advice. I have not yet bitten the bullet to see what happens but will when the problem irritates me too much.

will agree is pretty daunting if not used to doing it,but just take each step carefull and you should be fine ,best thing which ever advice you choose, print it out first, then follow it step by step,my post on clean installs looks probably a oh dear help sweaty palms! lol but its trying to explain it in its easiest form..

one other tip ,,,,,,,Windows Update, check the update 99.9% of time it will give you display driver in there, uncheck it,its an old river to ones that have since come out lol

if any one wants to use it theres a tweaed one basic junk taken out of it ,people who game like me use them lol
