Cytanet allow you to suspend your connection for up to 6 mths a year, so depending on how long they come for on holidays it may be an option.

I tried to use Cosmonet but their landline number diverts to a mobile which is never answered or calls returned and their mobile number is blocked on Cyta calls.

In the end I walked into the CyTel office and was connected a few hours later. No problems thus far and you can switch it on and off at your pleasure!

I would also recommend Cytel.

Fusion IT based in Paphos have a system were you can pay for internet as and when you need it, we use them and its and excellent service although it is paid for 24/7 but we have neighbours whom just use the service when they visit there holiday home, of course I am sure there are many other service providers that do the same Fusion IT are just our own choice :|
I started off with nothing and have most of it left !

Suggest cosmonet, installation, cheaper than the rest, and monthly charges when you are here, half price compared to others. Service Excellent. Richard.

I have seen internet antennae on houses pointing up to the big mountain north of Tremithousa called Melissovounu (which has loads of masts etc on it).

Anyone know which of the local firms offering "wireless" internet (e.g 5ghz MiMO) "broadcast" signals from that mountain top please?

Hi, can someone let me know the monthly cost of Cosmonet please? From the comments in this post they seem to be the company most people are happy with. Do they also offer you the ability to suspend the account for instance when our property is empty through the winter months.
Thanks

Thanks for that Lion....not!

It was an open question to this very helpful board asking for information on the ability to suspend the account as well as costs. From experience when asking the question direct to the company you will obviously get a positive spin from them and guided towards a product that might not be the best for me.

My question still stands and any positive response will be most welcome.
Thanks.

I've been with DSS for several years and although we use ours 24/7 they do have a switch on/off service which is free. As for the price well thats a difficult one because ther are different packages from different providers; I pay about 420 Euro per year which is a discounted price as I pay one lump sum. If you go onto the Providers web sites they have prices against their various packages. Some of the Providers have better coverage in certain area's so that is something else you will have to take into account when buying a package.
