Moved on-windows 10

Postby lincoln » 01 Jun 2016 14:48

I have windows 7 on my Lap Top and am reasonably happy with it. All on my seven year old slow Dell. Well as it is FREE I decided to download/upgrade to windows 10.

I am getting on very well with it. No problems. The point is that I still use Firefox and Google Chrome exactly the same as before on windows 7. So I have no idea of any advantage of W10? I will continue as before. My reason for the upgrade was If W7 eventually stops I am on W10 ready.

Does any of the above make sense to anyone?

Despite all the dire warnings about not updating to Windows 10, I did it by accident - clicked the wrong bit! However now glad I did and as far as I can see it works fine. Don't appear to have lost any files and it seems just as fast as Windows 7.

If you like the Windows 7 desktop and operating system..now that you are in W10..download and install the free , totally safe programme called Classic Shell
http://www.classicshell.net/
Download the latest stable version 4.2.5c

Then open ClassicShell, select Star Menu settings/select start menu style/select Windows 7 style.
Lower down in replace start button select 'Classic' and the OK
Reboot
You now have your desktop exactly as it was under W7..you are still operating in W10 but without the blessed tiles that appear with W10
Nothing has changed only the apearance, reverting to as it was under 7. No learning curve for a new sytem.
