The modem was very warm.
Bought one of these

Plugged it into the USB port on the Cyta modem.
Wow the difference is amazing.
Highly recommended.

Noticed the internet was slow.
The modem was very warm.
Bought one of these

I did the same some time ago when I had the old Cyta router, have the new model now but kept the USB fan when things get a little too warm...

Rug? that is the top of a worktop, and it is large rubber gaming mouse mat with paint looking gifs. I have two, just the job!
