different data

Any idea of costs for a land surveyor?
Our title deed shows a different size than the data on the land registry page, so how can a surveyor find out the right border?
Land registry says, their outlines and dimensions on their google earth pictures ''online serveces'') are right, but hat's impossible,
because if you give the number of the neighbour's plot, it reachs into ours, if you choose our number, it reachs into his!?? The same with other plots around.

Dear Gisela

If you read the information on the Department of Lands and Surveys website it says:

"Note. The geographic data of the Department of Lands and Surveys, compared to the information provided on the maps and/or the satellite images provided by “Google Earth” and “Google Map”, are possibly different, due to different geographic projections. A maximum deviation of about 5 meters has been observed. This issue is being followed up closely in collaboration with the company and will hopefully be resolved soon."

That should explain what you are seeing.

If you want a licensed surveyor to check, download the list of licensed surveyors and get some competitive quotations for the work.

Thanks NIgel, I've seen the comment on the Department of Lands and Surveys website.
Hubby was there today, and they had no answer what is the right size of the land, the one on the title or the one that is listed on the sidebar, if you open our 'parcel'.
Would an updated title deed help?
Which coordinates gets a surveyor from the department - the size differs in around 200 sqm?

Hi gisela

An updated Title Deed may help - it will cost you €10. I expect it will show the plot size as shown on the DLS website & the 2103 taxable value.

"Which coordinates gets a surveyor from the department" - the surveyor will demarcate the boundaries of your plot and you'll be able to see whether or not you've 'lost' any land.

Thanks, so we ask fpr the updated deed first. Actually we 'win' around 200sqm if the new data are right.
