IPT 2016

I'm in the unfortunate position of going through probate after the recent loss of my husband. Today I have been told by the tax authorities that IPT is outstanding for 2016, not having been paid by my late husband. Could you let me know when IPT for 2016 is actually due?

I thought IPT in 2016 were at last going to be calculated on the 'new' property values established in 2013(?). IPT becomes payable in previous years in November if memory serves me!

I'm sorry to hear that you've lost your husband. IPT rates and bands for 2016 haven't been set yet, but those applying for their Title Deeds are being asked to pay the same as 2015. As Mike has said, the deadline for payment is November.

I have been told if I go along to the tax office they will give me an invoice for 2016 which I will pay. From what I understand it will be the same as last year. Can't hang around till November as without paying this I can't move on with things like getting the ownership of the car put into my name etc. So looks like Limassol tax office tomorrow with my well-used chequebook!

Went to Limassol tax office today to pay IPT for 2016. It was the same as last year and I got 10% discount for early payment, a bit less than the 20% last year!

Is there any information yet on the basis of IPT for 2016,and any indication as to when bills will be sent out.If I dont get a bill can I go down and pay anyway-armed with last years receipts?

IPT 2016 can be paid any time. As stated in my earlier post, I paid mine last Friday. Showing my 2015 receipt, I was given an invoice, the amount was the same as last year. Went to the cashier and got 10% discount.

I doubt if we'll know the rates and banks until later this year. The tax should be based on the 2013 valuations. The payment deadline is usually the end of November.
