VPN Onto Linksys Router

Hi,

I have a VPN with "My Private Network". I need to get this put onto a Linksys Router.

The idea being that when the VPN is on the Router, I can watch ITV IPlayer on Apple TV.

Any ideas who could put this on the router for me please?

I take it your are using a jailbroken Apple TV2?
Go into the Apple Tv itself under settings, general and then network, configure manually leave all the existing ip address,subnet mask,settings etc then when you get to DNS address simply use the up/down arrows to type in the DNS address MPN will have provided you.
That should enable you to watch the iplayers you might have installed.
Try that before mucking about with the router.

It must go through a second router.

Here is a quote form MPN:

We recommend that you setup DD-WRT on a second router and configure that to connect to the VPN. This would then leave you with your existing network which would be your local Internet connection and then a new second network which will all be routed via our service. "

I do not get an IP Address with MPN only a password!!!!!

A couple of points...
1. I am guessing you have a jailbroken ATV2 with xbmc installed or you will not be able to install the repository from where you get the feeds to itv player, bbc iplayer etc.
2. You cannot install the iplayers onto any of the ATVs if they are not jailbroken and certainly cannot jailbreak an ATV3.
3. Get rid of my-private network you do not need to use DD-WRT flashed router for this purpose.
4.Take a subscription with overplay.net or unotelly.com They provide a smart dns service for under US$5 per month.
5. I used MPN and their service does not compare to the 2 suppliers I mention above.
6. If you remain with them then you will need to buy a preinstalled ddwrt router or if possible flash your existing router to DD-WRT. Easy if you know how but if you are not savvy!!!!
7. Streaming via an openvpn service WILL slow down your viewing experience and increase buffering, streaming using a smart dns is 100% better.
Do a google for DD-WRT in the first instance to see what you might be letting yourself in for.
