Paying water bill and community charge for Chloraka (Update)

Postby ast » 26 Oct 2016 20:41

Does anyone know if you can pay the Chloraka Community charge and water bill online, i know you can for some areas but i dont see any facility for this for Chloraka.

A neighbor is stuck in the UK for the rest of the year and wants to pay this way if they can.

Any info will be passed on. 8)

To my knowledge, no. Can they not post a cheque. I know it's considered old fashioned these days but they are still accepted in Cyprus.

Thanks Ravman i thought that there was no facility for Chlorakas, i have offered to go and do the payment in person and may well end up doing so but they wanted an easy route without bothering anyone else.

Thanks

Chlorakas Improvement Board have only recently accepted payments by card - give them time and I'm sure they'll get set up for online payments bless them!! The staff are lovely and extremely helpful though!

I recently paid my IPT in the office with a card (they did not have my address so I had not received the bill in the post) and as stated they were very helpful.
My community charge is paid via direct debit from my bank, the same as the electricity and water bills, but again as previously mentioned I don't believe there is
yet an online facility.

You pay IPT at the tax office/Land Registry so it was probably the Property Tax you paid there. i just paid that for one of my places there this morning in cash - all of €5.50!

You can pay the Chlorakas bills by direct debit, but I don't remember how we set it up.

When we bought our apartment Back in 2005 we set up a direct debit to pay our water bills and communial charge as we are not full time in Cyprus. There is a 3 euro charge everytime they take the respective money, but it has always been paid on time.

Having said that we have not had any money taken for this years communial charge, but I believe they are a bit late with the bills this year.

OK thanks, you are correct! Which means I have not paid my IPT - never received a bill for it, so no idea how much it is. Do I need to go to the tax office? Where is that exactly? Thanks.

Further to my original post i have an update for anyone that may be interested.

You can pay with cash a card or by cheque at the counter in Chloraka but not with a card over the phone, But you can pay for your water and communal charge via a bank transfer to the Chloraka Community office.

On behalf of my neighbour i went in and got the IBAN and Swift numbers from the kind lady on the desk and my neighbor has done a transfer and settled his account from the UK.

So in summary the water bill and community charge can be paid remotely from outside Cyprus if needed. 8)

Thanks for the info - I found the tax office at the end of last month and paid the IPT with the full 75% discount. :P
