Audio Equipment Repair

Has anyone any good (or bad) experiences to report with regard to audio equipment repairs. I have an amplifier that needs repair.

Nicolau Electronics may be a possibility, but their repair department now appears to be simply a shop, and dealing with them is, in any case, always hard work. Is there any other facility anyone has used where the staff understand the meaning of service?
